Sea freight from US East Coast (Newark) to Jebel Ali Port runs 22-30 days transit. Air freight from JFK or Newark to Dubai International (DXB) runs 3-5 days — viable for high-value smaller lots when the speed premium pays back in resale velocity. Most UAE buyers split between sea (full pallets, full containers) and air (cosmetics, electronics, high-margin box lots).

Customs and duties at Jebel Ali

UAE customs assesses 5% duty on most non-essential goods plus 5% VAT (charged when the goods enter the local UAE market — free-zone re-exports are exempt). Free-zone storage (Jebel Ali Free Zone, Sharjah Airport Free Zone) lets you re-export without paying the UAE duty and VAT. We provide USD commercial invoices and packing lists in the format UAE customs and free-zone authorities expect.

Payment from the UAE
